Prayer Requests and Praise Reports
Praises:

*11/1/06 Praise the Lord, we were able to visit Pucallpa this month and see our new home for the next three years, meet with local staff members at the FH office, and visiting the Refuge of Hope and meeting Victor Izquierda (pastor who started the school) and his wife Anita. It was such a blessing!

*(11/1/06) First and foremost we praise the Lord for actually being in Peru. As the process of getting to Peru took a total of 2 years! We have also been blessed with a warm and welcoming host family and FHI staff. They have taken us in and been a tremendous encouragement to us her in Peru.

* (11/1/06) After 8 weeks of language school, we are continuing to understand and speak more of the Spanish language. We have improved a lot, but we still have a long way to go. Also our Spanish teacher is excellent! She has turned down students from the US embassy to teach missionaries and is very knowledgeable and caring towards her students.

*(11/1/06) After 8 weeks of using the public transportation in the city and knowing only a minimal amount of the Spanish language, Paul and I feel more comfortable traveling and are more familiar with the city.

*Paul and I have been able to make friends with some nationals here in Lima, who also have a heart to serve the poor. We will be studying the bible and meeting with them on a biweekly basis to seek the Lord's guidance and build friendships.

Requests:

*(10/1/06) That the Lord will continue to bless us in our language studies, and that we would be able to learn and understand the language when the time comes for us to move to Pucallpa.

*God would continue to reveal Himself to us as we seek to follow him.

*The hearts and minds of the nationals in Peru would be receptive to us as we live in their country

*That in all things, God would be glorified in our lives

*That we will continue to learn and feel more comfortable using the Spanish language to communicate with people in the city (Lima).
